Starbucks took my suggestion about offering free beverages for voters. Consequently, the line at the Eagle Rock Starbucks this morning was as long as the one at my polling place. I love America.

Starbucks was not the only place that offered free beverages if you votes. Ben and Jerry- the Ice cream did.

Besides encouraging the citzens to go out and vote, I remember driving up to 7-11 and get Icee for my sons. On the window, there was Political Ads. You can tell your own political party preference when you order a cup of coffee: McCain (red) or Biden (blue.) I thought it would leave the customers in a catching 22 because it reveals the political party you are interested.

I can't believe I pursued crappy, burnt-tasting Starbucks coffee over delicious Ben and Jerry's! It's hard to be an informed voter.

I take a walk and do the exercise my therapist taught me: something I can see, something I can hear, something I can smell, something I can feel, something I can taste. Every day contains years, like how yesterday was briefly 1985 and Jenessa's dad was right there, his glasses and strawberry blonde mustache and crew socks, groaning "Ness" about something she said. What she said as we stood in the fog watching our children climb rocks forty years later— my god—is that he was okay for a while after treatment, and then he wasn't, but he refused to talk about it.
